PropertyDuka User Base Surges to 625,000 as NCBA Deepens Regional Property Market Reach

NCBA is stepping up efforts to expand its presence in Kenya’s regional property markets, bringing together developers, realtors, real estate agencies and investors in Nakuru to explore opportunities for collaboration, improve access to property finance and accelerate the digitisation of property transactions.
The breakfast engagement, targeting stakeholders from Nakuru and Naivasha, highlighted PropertyDuka, East Africa’s first AI-powered property digital marketplace, as a platform connecting prospective homeowners and investors with developers and real estate professionals. The initiative forms part of NCBA’s strategy to expand the platform beyond Nairobi and strengthen its presence across the property value chain.
Since its launch, PropertyDuka has continued to gain significant market traction, with active users growing from 4,500 in September to more than 625,000 today. The platform now hosts 216 property listings and is increasingly driving demand for NCBA financial solutions, generating 148 financial product applications and 95 account opening requests through the marketplace. Customer engagement trends indicate strong interest in property financing, expert advisory services and home set-up solutions, reinforcing PropertyDuka’s position as a comprehensive homeownership ecosystem that connects property discovery, financing and value-added services in one digital platform.
The opportunity is underscored by the region’s housing dynamics. According to the Nakuru County Housing Status Report, published in February 2026 by the Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis (KIPPRA), with support from Financial Sector Deepening (FSD) Kenya, more than 70 per cent of urban households in Nakuru County rent their homes. These findings highlight the importance of understanding diverse housing needs and connecting property professionals with customers seeking rental housing, homeownership and investment opportunities.
Speaking on the engagement, Dennis Njau, Group Director, Retail Banking at NCBA Group, said PropertyDuka reflects the bank’s commitment to using digital innovation to connect people with opportunities and support their ambitions.
“At NCBA, our purpose is to bank on belief and empower ambitions. We understand that owning a home is an important aspiration for many Kenyans, while developers and realtors need to reach the right customers to grow their businesses. PropertyDuka brings these ambitions closer together by connecting property professionals with prospective buyers and investors. As we expand into Nakuru and Naivasha, we want to give local developers and realtors greater visibility while making it easier for more people to discover property opportunities that align with their aspirations,” he said.
Through the platform, developers and realtors can showcase properties, increase their visibility and connect with prospective customers, while property seekers can explore available opportunities through a digital marketplace. Expanding local listings will help strengthen PropertyDuka’s relevance to customers and industry players in the region.
Njau added that NCBA’s support extends beyond property discovery to helping customers pursue ownership and investment opportunities through financing.
“Finding the right property is an important first step, but access to appropriate financing can be equally critical in turning that ambition into reality. Through our property financing solutions, we support developers in growing their businesses and help homebuyers and investors pursue their property goals. By bringing together digital innovation, financing and partnerships, we are working to make the property journey more accessible while helping more customers take meaningful steps towards their ambitions. The strong growth of PropertyDuka, both in user adoption and customer demand for financial solutions, demonstrates the growing need for a seamless property ecosystem that goes beyond listings to include financing, advisory services and homeownership support.” He said.
The engagement provided an opportunity to strengthen partnerships with local property sector players, encourage more developers and real estate agencies to join PropertyDuka, and expand the range of properties available to prospective buyers and investors. It also reinforced NCBA’s commitment to connecting regional customers with relevant property finance solutions.
Through PropertyDuka and its property financing solutions, NCBA aims to strengthen connections across the property value chain, support the growth of local businesses and help more Kenyans take steps towards homeownership and property investment.
