Flame Tree  Declines by 4.00 percent

The NSE 20 and NASI index gained 33.47 points and 0.61 points to close at 4,350.70 and 146.43. Kapchorua Tea went up 5.74 percent to KES 221.00 to emerge as the day’s top gainer. Flame Tree emerged the top loser, declining by 4.00 percent to close the day at KES 7.20.

The volume of shares traded declined 22.88 percent to close at 49.34mn. Total turnover dropped 33.14 percent to close at KES 1,239.14mn. Safaricom was the largest mover of the day with a turnover of KES 425.08mn representing 34.30 percent of the total market turnover.

Foreign buys stood at 75.73 percent of total turnover, while foreign sales stood at 68.11 percent of total turnover.

EAC Markets

Uganda: The USE ALSI declined 0.16 percent to close at 1,876.79 while USE LSI rose by 0.04 percent to close at 346.77. A total of 461,354 shares were traded today. Total turnover came to a close of UGX 33.94mn.

Rwanda: The USE RSI and RSE ALSI remained constant to close at 204.36 and 143.20. Total number of shares traded today was 1.45mn shares. Total turnover come to a close of RWF 440.38mn.

Tanzania: The DSEI gained 0.74 percent to close at 2,541.56 while DSE TSI declined by 0.12 percent to close at 4,560.42. Tanzania Breweries rose by 1.01 percent to close at TZS 14,950.00 to become top gainer. National Microfinance Bank declined by 3.48 percent to close at TZS 2,770.00 emerging as top loser. Total volumes were recorded at 118,008 shares. Total turnover closed at TZS 92.50mn.
