I&M Bank Emerges Day’s Top Gainer

NSE 20 share and NASI index went up by 60.32 points and 1.07 points respectively to close at 4,194.73 and 145.11. I&M Bank gained 10.28 percent ending today’s session at KES 118.00 to emerge as the day’s top gainer. TPS Serena emerged the top loser, declining by 5.47 percent to close the day at KES 30.25.

The volume of shares traded rose 9.27 percent to close at 19.13mn. Total turnover shot up by 307.98 percent to close at KES 2,244.68mn. BAT Kenya was the largest mover of the day with a turnover of KES 2,006.17mn representing 89.37 percent of the total market turnover.

Foreign buys stood at 98.40 percent of total turnover, while foreign sales stood at 7.42 percent of total turnover.

EAC Markets

Uganda: The USE ALSI and USE LSI rose 0.21 percent and 0.04 percent respectively to close at 1,851.92 and 351.46. A total of 344,141 shares were traded today. Total turnover came to a close of UGX 185.40mn.

Rwanda: The USE RSI and RSE ALSI remained constant to close at 191.09 and 141.39. Total number of shares traded today was 80,300 shares. Total turnover come to a close of RWF 22.49mn.

Tanzania: The DSEI declined by 0.43 percent to close at 2,487.29 while DSE TSI rose 0.06 percent to close at 4,653.32. CRDB Bank was the day’s top gainer, gaining 2.50 percent to close at 390.00. National Micro finance Bank declined 1.06 percent to close at 15,260.00 emerging as top loser. Total volumes were recorded at 89,830 shares. Total turnover closed at TZS 69.62mn.
