The cement manufacturer, Bamburi, has registered a drop in net profits by 3.9 billion shillings attributing to the long electioneering period in Kenya in 2017.

The net profit for the company stood at 1.97 billion shillings due to the interest capping law, tightening liquidity as well as delayed infrastructural projects.

Bamburi got 25.9 billion shillings in revenues in 2017, a drop of six percent from 38.3 billion shillings in 2016.

The company’s assets increased to 33.2 billion shillings from 21.8 billion shillings. The assets in Uganda for the company increased by 419 million shillings while those in Kenya increased by 5.7 billion shillings.
