Musikoma is in Bungoma County, Kanduyi Sub-County, on your way to Mumias. Musikoma is not that developed and the majority of the residents live in poor conditions. At the same time, the majority are small-scale farmers who plant various crops for food.
Some farmers, who have at least an acre of land and more take part in sugarcane farming. Initially, they would take their sugarcane to Nzoia Sugar Company but years of not being paid discourages most of them. A few who still plant sugarcane supply it to Butali Sugar and Kabras Sugar.
Maize is a common crop in Musikoma, Kanduyi. It is planted on a small scale for food. In fact, at the moment, maize has become so scarce in Bungoma (including Musikoma) that a 2-kilogram packet is going for 200 shillings, the highest price in history.
