HELB Opens Loans And Bursary Application For Students, How To Apply

The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) has announced the opening of the Kenya Accountants and Secretaries National Examinations Board (KASNEB) Foundation Loan and Bursary Scheme offering financial support and ready to receive loan applications from accounting students.

“The KASNEB Foundation Loan and Bursary Scheme is now open, offering support for both your tuition and exam fees. With attractive interest rates and flexible repayment periods,” the statement read.

The scheme Is designed to assist students taking the KASNEB accounting courses and offer both examination and tuition fees across the country.

To qualify for the loan, the scheme is designed to assist students enrolled in accredited universities, colleges, and other training institutions across Kenya.

According to the scheme, only students taking six courses are eligible. They include; Certified Public Accountants (CPA), Certified Secretaries (CS), Certified Investment and Financial Analysts (CIFA), Certified Credit Professionals (CCP), Accounting Technicians Diploma (ATD), and Certificate in Accounting and Management Skills (CAMS).

The loan will attract an interest rate of 6% per annum and is due for repayment 3 years after the date of completion of studies with a maximum repayment period of 60 months.

There will also be an administrative fee of Kshs.500 charged during disbursement.

How to Apply

  1. Applicants should visit the HELB website helb.co.ke to access the HELB Students’ Portal to register, create, and activate the account (ensure you use your mobile number).
  2. Login, and click the Loan ‘Application’ Tab, on the left dashboard.
  3. From the view window, select either: KASNEB Foundation Loan and Bursary Application- Tuition fees only OR KASNEB Foundation Loan and Bursary Application – kasneb fees only.
  4. Read and agree on the Consent for the Collection and Processing of Personal Data.
  5. Access and fill out the loan application form online.
