The Market Closed The Week Bullishly, TotalEnergies Closes Books Next Week

The market closed the session on a bullish note with the NASI and N10 gaining 0.7% each. Likewise, the NSE 20 and NSE 25 rose by 0.5% and 0.6%, respectively.

Equity turnover eased to USD 1.2m (-74.8%). Local investors dominated market activity, accounting for 86.1% of the turnover levels, up from 57.1% yesterday.

Equity Group dominated market activity, accounting for 27.9% of the day’s turnover. The counter’s price function inched upwards 0.1% to KES 46.15.

Likewise, StanChart and Co-op gained 0.3% and 0.9% to KES 283.00 and KES 16.65, respectively.

BAT and Safaricom advanced by 0.2% and 1.1% to KES 350.00 and KES 23.95, respectively. The latter closed the day as the best-performing top mover. Kenya-Re, on the other hand, eased by 1.6% to KES 1.83.

Express was the day’s top gainer, up 7.8% to close at KES 3.71. Olympia shed 10.0% to KES 3.42, closing as the leading laggard.

Foreign investors broke their 8-session net buying, with net outflows of USD 85.0 K. Equity Group led the buying charge while BAT led the selling charge.

TotalEnergies KES 1.92 dividend book closure next week on Friday, 27th June 2024.
