Unga Group Emerges Top Loser

The NSE 20 and NASI index dropped 49.75 points and 1.35 points to close at 4,354.99 and 147.04. CIC went up 6.45 percent to KES 7.45 to emerge as the day’s top gainer. Unga Group emerged the top loser, declining by 8.33 percent to close the day at KES 41.25.

The volume of shares traded declined 28.88 percent to close at 28.11mn. Total turnover dropped 41.68 percent to close at KES 721.15mn. KCB Bank was the largest mover of the day with a turnover of KES 279.83mn representing 23.63 percent of the total market turnover.

Foreign buys stood at 92.98 percent of total turnover, while foreign sales stood at 88.37 percent of total turnover.

EAC Markets

Uganda: The USE ALSI and USE LSI gained 0.89 percent and 0.13 percent respectively to close at 1,866.77 and 335.77. A total of 2.74mn shares were traded today. Total turnover came to a close of UGX 599.75mn.

Rwanda: The USE RSI and RSE ALSI remained constant to close at 207.59 and 143.49. Total number of shares traded today was 71,700 shares. Total turnover come to a close of RWF 20.09mn.

Tanzania: The DSEI and DSE TSI declined 0.94 percent and 0.12 percent respectively to close at 2,527.45 and 4,583.93. Africa Barrick Gold declined by 2.59 percent to close at TZS 7,530.00 emerging as top loser. Total volumes were recorded at 141,038 shares. Total turnover closed at TZS 462.76mn.
