Deacons Top Laggard at the NSE as Umeme Takes the Lead

Deacons (East Africa) was the top loser of the day at the NSE on Tuesday. The company lost 9.33 percent at the price of 3.40 shillings per share.

Trans-Century came in as the second loser with 6.77 percent followed by Total Kenya with 2.33 percent. NIC Kenya and Liberty Kenya lost 1.97 and 1.23 percent respectively.

Umeme was the top gainer of the day. The company gained 9.43 percent at the price of 14.50 shillings per share. Kenya Airways was the second gainer with 9.35 percent at the price of 5.85 shillings per share.

National Bank, Nairobi Business Ventures, and Sameer Africa gained 8.89, 8.33 and 7.41 percent respectively at the price of 9.80, 1.95 and 2.90 shillings per share respectively.

Kenya Commercial Bank has maintained its position as the top mover of the day. The banker posted a volume of 5.75 million followed by Safaricom Limited with a volume of 3.34 million. Home Afrika, East African Breweries, and Kenya Electricity Generating Company posted volumes of 1.71, 1.23 and 1.16 million respectively.
