KEY TAKEAWAYS

There will be three national examinations to be undertaken by students come November, including The Kenya Primary School Education Assessment For Grade 6, Kenya Certificate Of Primary Education (KCPE), and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).

According to the Ministry of education, the National Examination registration period that ends on the 14th may not be extended for any course.

“Our headteachers think we will extend the registration deadline. I am so discouraged,” stated Education CS Prof George Magoha.

The education CS noted that the exams set to take place in November 2022 will not be delayed by anything, and hence schools’ heads and principals must ensure they register the students before the deadline.

Any school head and principal who will not follow this directive will have to face the wrath and blame no one.

Magoha went ahead to direct all school heads who allegedly send students home for lunch fees to stop the act and allow the children to learn. Failure to do this, he said, will lead to punishments.

“Day scholars should not be sent home for lunch fees. Just allow them to be in school but do not give them lunch. Let kids get an education to help their families”, noted Magoha.

He likewise urged well-wishers to sponsor students who may not have the means to pursue secondary education while urging less fortunate parents to send their children to school regardless of whether they have school fees.

“Forget about all the politics you hear; we must also empower the poor to break the ceiling. Let all the children come to school because they will be well received. To the parents who lack enough money, send your child with the little as you look for the rest,” Magoha said.
