Treasury Confirms Receiving 201 Billion Shillings Eurobond Cash

The National Treasury has confirmed having received the 201 billion shillings, proceeds from the two Eurobonds issued last month at London Stock Exchange.

The funds, according to the Central Bank of Kenya were received on 28th of February at Citibank collection account.

The funds were then transferred to the CBK’s Consolidated Fund account on 12th of March.

The Central Bank of Kenya Governor, Patrick Njoroge assured Kenyans that the full amount of the Eurobond money had been received by the bank and dismissed rumors that the money received was less.

On Tuesday, some media outlets in the country said that the CBK had received 169 billion shillings, 40 billion shillings less of the expected amount.
