KAA Selling Planes For As Low As 94,000 Shillings

Can you imagine buying a plane for less than 100,000 shillings? How is that even possible? Who sells a plane for less than 100,000 shillings? The Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) has announced an auction of aircraft that have been abandoned at Wilson Airport.

Owning a car is achievable for most people, but have you ever dreamt of owning a plane? Thinking that this is impossible? Well, just make sure you’re at the Kenya Airports Authority on August 9th.

The cheapest plane during the auction will be going for 94,300 shillings while the most expensive will be fetching 10 million shillings.

KAA which is in charge of operations, safety and security at all Kenyan airports say the abandoned aircraft are a security concern at the airport.

The authority announced through the local dailies that the auction of the aircraft will be held on the 9th of August with the viewing set for this Friday.

KAA also charges parking fees for planes at Kenyan Airports and those who fail to pay the parking fee often risk losing their planes to the auction.

In June, KAA have the owners of the planes abandoned at Wilson Airport 30 days to pay their rising parking fees failure of which the planes were to be auctioned.

The planes at Wilson Airport belong to companies and individuals. Most individuals who own the aircraft at the airport are politicians.

According to KAA, the aircraft will be auctioned on the basis of “As-is-where-it-is”.

• Kenya Racing Team
• Air Kenya Express
• Arvin Pahwa/Queensway Air Express
• Knight Aviation
• Phoenix
• Neil’s B. Bevel
• John J. Hassel

Hulanda under the registration of 5H-KLA belongs to Tandill Limited will be the most expensive plane to be sold at 10,045,000 shillings during the auction.
