Sameer highest gainer of the day as Standard Group declines by 5 percent

The NSE 20 declined by 1.27 points to close at 5,055.00 while the NASI gained 0.11 points to close at 171.70. The highest market gainer of the day was Sameer gaining 7.55 percent to close at KES 5.70, Standard Group on the other hand emerged as the top loser, declining by 5.00 percent to close the day at KES 33.25.

The volume of shares traded edged up by 12.06 percent to close at 12.33mn, total turnover also rose by 16.55 percent to close at KES 477.71mn. E.A Breweries was the overall market mover with a turnover of KES 198.13mn representing 41.48 percent of total market turnover.

Foreign buys stood at 56.55 percent of total turnover, while foreign sales stood at 60.97 percent of total turnover.

EAC Markets

Uganda: The USE ALSI declined by 0.06 percent to close at 2,032.01 while USE LSI rose by 0.09 percent to close at 236.16. A total of 26,920 shares were traded today. Total turnover came to a close of UGX 34.69mn.

Rwanda: The RSE ALSI and RSE RSI to close at 232.17 and 137.05. Total number of shares traded today was 6,900 shares. Total turnover come to a close of 2.51mn.

Tanzania: The DSEI and DSE TSI rose by 0.53 percent and 0.69 percent respectively to close at 2,706.03 and 4,761.79. African Barrick Gold was the top gainer of the day gaining 2.40 percent to close at TZS 8,100.Total volumes were recorded at 1.62mn shares. Total turnover closed at TZS 4.37bn.
