Flame Tree declines 8.23 percent to emerge top loser of the day

The NSE 20 and NASI index declined by 17.26 points and 0.45 points to close at 4,924.45 and 167.38. Olympia Holdings edged up by 8.70 percent to close at KES 5.00 to become today’s top gainer on the other hand Flame Tree emerged the top loser, declining by 8.23 percent to close the day at KES 7.25.

The volume of shares traded jumped by 95.19 percent to close at 37.98mn.Total turnover also rose by 87.27 percent to close at KES 1,180.25mn. E.A Breweries was the largest mover of the day with a turnover of KES 387.36mn representing 32.82 percent of total market turnover.

Foreign buys stood at 59.39 percent of total turnover, while foreign sales stood at 54.65 percent of total turnover.

EAC Markets

Uganda: The USE ALSI declined by 0.42 percent to close at 1,915.68 while USE LSI gained by 0.22 percent to close at 325.72. A total of 1.26mn shares were traded today. Total turnover came to a close of UGX 46.86mn.

Rwanda: The RSE ALSI and RSE RSI remained constant to close at 224.43 and 136.13. Total number of shares traded today was 2.66mn shares. Total turnover come to a close of 771.44mn.

Tanzania: The DSEI and DSE TSI shaved 0.58 percent and 0.03 Percent respectively to close at 2,736.74 and 4,700.40.Africa Barrick Gold was the top loser, declining by 5.55 percent to close at 8,850.00. Total volumes were recorded at 371,218 shares. Total turnover closed at TZS 170.42mn.
