The recent development of the infrastructure in the country has led to developers coming up with a trend in the real estate sector called gated communities.

Gated communities are popular because of the affordability of the houses and the living standards. They provide convenience that one cannot experience in a stand-alone house. People get to share security fees, repairs inside the estate and other amenities.

EdenVille.

It is located off Kiambu road within minutes of Nairobi’s Muthaiga. They have different designs of properties in the area which include; villa, maisonettes and apartments. They also have commercial spaces that provide different amenities for the community. Phase one consists of 345 villas on 70 acres with  three types of villas; The Camellia, The Olive and The Ivy villas. Each villa sits on an ⅛ acre piece of land. This community is popular because of its affordable houses that range from Kshs. 14 million-18 million.

Bahati Ridge

This is situated in Thika, 45 minutes drive from central business district. The development consists of townhouses, villas, bungalows and cottages. The whole project is set on 97 acres. An advantage in this community is the common centre that features supermarkets, cafes, salons and restaurants. This makes it very convenient for the people living here. The houses range from Kshs. 15 million.

Greenpark

It is located along Mombasa road, Athiriver and offers the best of country living. It also consists of different designs of houses; quarter villa, maisonettes, bungalows, and super bungalows. The houses are affordable and people are willing to buy them despite the distance from the central business district. These houses range from Kshs. 9 million- 34 million.

Jadan Homes

This development is located in Nanyuki. The people living here get to experience the spectacular view of Mt. Kenya. These are four-bedroom houses with a spacious lounge, en-suite guestroom, laundry area and study room. The houses range from Kshs. 20 million.
