Carbacid Declines 4.72 Percent to Emerge Top Loser

The NSE 20 declined 2.01 points to close at 4,690.16, NASI Index rose 0.06 points to close at 158.45. Trans Century was the highest market gainer edging up 8.59 percent to close the day at KES 15.80. Carbacid emerged the top loser, declining by 4.72 percent to close the day at KES 16.90.

The volume of shares traded soared by 172.07 percent to close at 83.07mn. Total turnover rose 502.38 percent to close at KES 3,320.37mn. Equity Group was the largest mover of the day with a turnover of KES 2,132.44mn representing 64.22 percent of total market turnover.

Foreign buys stood at 21.19 percent of total turnover, while foreign sales stood at 74.00 percent of total turnover.

EAC Markets

Uganda: The USE ALSI edged up 0.87 percent to close at 1,895.29 while USE LSI declined 0.98 percent to close at 332.36. A total of 180,950 shares were traded today. Total turnover came to a close of UGX 80.72mn.

Rwanda: The RSE ALSI and USE RSI remained constant to close at 215.43 and 144.69 respectively. Total number of shares traded today was 707,400 shares. Total turnover come to a close of RWF
205.16mn.

Tanzania: The DSEI and DSE TSI declined 1.38 percent and 0.03 percent to close at 2,613.34 and 4,560.62. Tanzania Tea Packers went up 0.76 percent to close at TZS 3,430.00 .Dar es Salaam Community Bank was the top loser of the day declining by 3.03 percent to close at TZS 640.00. Total volumes were recorded at 413,024 shares. Total turnover closed at TZS 172.57mn.
