Express Kenya Declines 8.11 Percent to Emerge Top Loser

The NSE 20 lost 10.54 points to close at 4,627.90 while NASI Index gained 0.36 points to close at 156.32. Eveready inched up 6.10 to KES 4.35 to emerge as the day’s top gainer. Express Kenya emerged the top loser, declining by 8.11 percent to close the day at KES 5.10.

The volume of shares traded went up 28.96 percent to close at 26.97mn. Total turnover shed 4.30 percent to close at KES 762.33mn. Safaricom was the largest mover of the day with a turnover of KES 271.70mn representing 35.57 percent of the total market turnover.

Foreign buys stood at 70.92 percent of total turnover, while foreign sales stood at 70.28 percent of total turnover.

EAC Markets

Uganda: The USE ALSI declined 1.29 percent to close at 1,874.29 while USE LSI gained 0.04 percent to close at 331.46. A total of 258,633 shares were traded today. Total turnover came to a close of UGX 19.41mn.

Rwanda: The RSE ALSI and USE RSI dropped 0.07 percent and 0.06 percent respectively to close at 215.31 and 144.59. Total number of shares traded today was 1,500 shares. Total turnover come to a close of RWF 482,000.

Tanzania: The DSEI and DSE TSI declined 0.003 percent and 0.01 percent respectively to close at 2,622.29 and 4,563.34. Tanzania Breweries went up 0.07 percent to close at TZS 14,510.00. Swissport Tanzania was the top loser of the day declining by 1.34 percent to close at TZS 7,340.00. Total volumes were recorded at 179,248 shares. Total turnover closed at TZS 110.23mn.
