The NSE 20 rose and NASI index dropped 17.45 and 0.62 percent respectively to close at 4,464.74 and 151.01. Marshalls gained 5.49 percent to KES 12.50 to emerge as the day’s top gainer. Atlas Development emerged the top loser, declining by 9.25 percent to close the day at KES 7.85.

The volume of shares traded rose by 40.69 percent to close at 22.36mn. Total turnover went up by 14.28 percent to close at KES 594.35mn. KCB Bank was the largest mover of the day with a turnover of KES 154.59mn representing 26.01 percent of the total market turnover.

Foreign buys stood at 79.18 percent of total turnover, while foreign sales stood at 83.31 percent of total turnover

Uganda: The USE ALSI and USE LSI declined 0.37 percent and 0.08 percent respectively to close at 1,928.42 and 349.74. A total of 1.34mn shares were traded today. Total turnover came to a close of UGX 64.68mn.

Rwanda: The USE RSI and RSE ALSI remained constant to close at 195.45 and 142.36. Total number of shares traded today was 1.47mn shares. Total turnover come to a close of RWF 425.20mn.

Tanzania: The DSEI remained constant to close at 2,577.43 while DSE TSI rose by 0.80 percent respectively to close at 4,631.75. Tanzania Portland Cement rose by 1.60 percent to close at TZS 3,800.00 to become top gainer. CRDB Bank dropped by 12.50 percent to close at TZS 450.00 emerging as top loser. Total volumes were recorded at 264,115 shares. Total turnover closed at TZS 334.88mn.
