NSE 20 Rises by 13.61

Kenyan Stock Market

The NSE 20 rose by 13.61 to close at 4,509.84 while NASI index dropped 0.05 points to close at 152.04. Longhorn gained 6.92 percent to KES 6.95 to emerge as the day’s top gainer. Express Kenya emerged the top loser, declining by 7.92 percent to close the day at KES 4.65.

The volume of shares traded declined by 33.28 percent to close at 19.72mn. Total turnover dropped by 22.43 percent to close at KES 511.89mn. Liberty Kenya was the largest mover of the day with a turnover of KES 129.32mn representing 43.92 percent of the total market turnover.

Foreign buys stood at 74.92 percent of total turnover, while foreign sales stood at 43.89 percent of total turnover

EAC Markets

Uganda: The USE ALSI and USE LSI declined 0.01 percent and 0.80 percent respectively to close at 1,948.36 and 349.52. A total of 15,252 shares were traded today. Total turnover came to a close of UGX 13.01mn.

Rwanda: The USE RSI and RSE ALSI declined by 2.63 percent and 0.47 percent respectively to close at 198.60 and 142.50. Total number of shares traded today was 444,000 shares. Total turnover come to a close of RWF 128.91mn.

Tanzania: The DSEI and DSE TSI lost 0.97 percent and 0.64 percent respectively to close at 2,576.77 and 4,581.89. Dar es Salaam Community Bank rose by 1.61 percent to close at TZS 630.00 to become top gainer. Swissport Tanzania dropped by 3.84 percent to close at TZS 7,020.00 emerging as top loser. Total volumes were recorded at 149,211 shares. Total turnover closed at TZS 306.44mn.
