Atlas Development Emerges Top Loser of the Day

NSE 20 share and NASI index soared 6.68 points and 0.46 points respectively to close at 4,257.27 and 148.68. Kakuzi gained 9.76 percent closing today’s session at KES 326.00 to emerge as the day’s top gainer. Atlas Development emerged the top loser, declining by 8.86 percent to close the day at KES 3.60.

The volume of shares traded dropped 21.64 percent to close at 19.59mn. Total turnover went down 2.56 percent to close at KES 590.46mn. Safaricom was the largest mover of the day with a turnover of KES 170.17mn representing 28.08 percent of the total market turnover.

Foreign buys stood at 76.37 percent of total turnover, while foreign sales stood at 53.34 percent of total turnover.

EAC Markets

Uganda: The USE ALSI rose 0.06 percent to close at 1,953.28 while USE LSI lost 0.70 percent to close at 352.60. A total of 2.61mn shares were traded today. Total turnover came to a close of UGX 375.34mn, an increment from the previous turnover.

Rwanda: The USE RSI and RSE ALSI remained constant to close at 189.44 and 141.36. Total turnover came in at RWF 36.57mn with 130,600 shares traded.

Tanzania: The DSEI and DSE TSI lost 0.05 percent and 0.12 percent respectively to close at 2,550.38 and 4,649.66.Tanzania Portland Cement declined 7.65 percent to close at 3,500.00 emerging as top loser.
Total volumes were recorded at 5.61mn shares. Total turnover closed at TZS 80.67bn.
