BY · October 21, 2015 11:10 am

Since 19th October Top African and Global CEO’S and senior Executives have been converging in Washington D.C for an IGD Frontier 100 forum. The forum brings together business leaders to discuss important topics on businesses in Africa.

In 2014 African accounted for 9 of the world‘s 15 fastest growing economies, this a clear indication of how fast the homegrown African business is changing facts for the global economy.

The rapid growth has made the rest of the world to look at Africa as an investment destination with multinational corporations expanding their business in the continent.

The forum’s main agendas are to strategize on how to strengthen Africa’s private sector development to spur innovation, job creation, and global competitiveness.

Initiative for Global Development’s (IGD), a U.S.-based organization that engages business leaders from the U.S., Africa and other regions in creating growth and alleviating poverty in Africa through strategic, successful business investment are the forum’s sponsors.

Employment opportunities are created from these African businesses for their respective countries but the lack of regulatory environment and access to finance is becoming a hindrance in the growth of more SME’s in the region.

The Forum’s theme is “African Business in the World-Class Space”. Panel discussions will highlight successful African companies and work on how more African companies can become competitive in the global economy.

The event is held twice a year, One in Africa and one in the U.S. the Previous Forums have focused on issues ranging from standardized power purchase agreements, logistics and transportation, and shared value business models.
