KCB Largest Mover of the Day

NSE 20 and NASI index went up 26.61 points and 0.47 percent respectively to close at 3,935.88 and 139.43. CIC jumped 4.07 percent to at KES 6.40. Car & General declined 9.71 percent to close the day at KES 39.50 becoming today’s top loser.

The volume of shares traded dropped by 65.97 percent to close at 12.51mn. Total turnover halted at KES 447.35mn down 44.10 percent. KCB was the largest mover of the day with a turnover of KES 135.48mn representing 30.29 percent of the total market turnover.

Foreign buys stood at 82.04 percent of total turnover, while foreign sales stood at 86.21 percent of total turnover. ARM traded a block of 1m shares at a price of 37.50 with foreign clients purchasing the stock.

EAC Markets

Uganda: The USE ALSI and USE LSI edged up 1.62 percent and 0.77 percent respectively to close at 1,807.83 and 368.91. A total of 6.76mn shares were traded today. Total turnover came to a close of UGX 4.33bn, an increase from the previous turnover.

Rwanda: The USE RSI and RSE ALSI remained constant to close at 174.64 and 134.06. Total turnover came in at RWF 488,000.00mn with 2,000 shares traded.

Tanzania: The DSEI rose 0.90 percent to close at 2,422.33 while DSE TSI declined 0.01 percent to close at 4,572.40. Afrika Barrick Gold declined 1.76 percent to close at TZS 7,260.00 emerging as top loser. Total volumes were recorded at 2.60mn shares. Total turnover closed at TZS 37.68mn.
