Liberty Holdings Emerges Day’s Top Loser

NSE 20 declined by 7.62 points to close at 3,905.88 while NASI index rose 0.13 points to close at 137.99. Jubilee jumped 9.27 percent to at KES 448.00. Liberty Holdings shaved off 7.95 percent to close the day at KES 19.10 becoming today’s top loser.

The volume of shares traded today was 28.78mn. Total turnover went up 32.01 percent to close the day at KES 983.14mn. Equity Group was the largest mover of the day with a turnover of KES 3371.83mn representing 34.36 percent of the total market turnover.

Foreign buys stood at 79.63 percent of total turnover, while foreign sales stood at 92.01 percent of total turnover.

Uganda: The USE ALSI and USE LSI edged up 3.97 percent and 0.24 percent respectively to close at 1,864.22 and 371.05. A total of 1.71mn shares were traded today. Total turnover came to a close
of UGX 1.09bn.

Rwanda: The USE RSI and RSE ALSI dipped by 0.23 percent and 0.04 percent respectively to close at 171.92 and 133.72. Total turnover came in at RWF 7.86mn with 28,100 shares traded.

Tanzania: The DSEI and DSE TSI shrank by 0.24 percent and 0.23 percent respectively to close at 2,391.56 and 4,577.95. African Barrick Gold dropped 3.50 percent to close at TZS 6,620.00 emerging as today’s top loser. Total volumes were recorded at 101,578 shares. Total turnover closed at TZS 75.46mn.
