Olympia Capital Emerges Top Loser of the Day

NSE 20 and NASI index lost 20.20 points and 0.49 points respectively to close at 4,064.16 and 142.93. NSE gained 3.66 percent closing today’s session at KES 21.25 to emerge as the day’s top gainer. Olympia Capital was the top loser, declining 10.00 percent to close the day at KES 4.50.

The volume of shares traded went down 76.32 percent to close at 3.25mn. Total turnover also dropped 77.27 percent to close at KES 101.99mn. Equity Group was the largest mover of the day with a turnover of KES 40.46mn representing 39.67 percent of the total market turnover.

Foreign buys stood at 66.24 percent of total turnover, while foreign sales stood at 66.27 percent of total turnover.

Uganda: The USE ALSI dropped 1.66 percent to close at 1,873.90 while USE LSI rose 0.57 percent to close at 354.49. A total of 2.54mn shares were traded today. Total turnover came to a close of UGX 1.42bn, an increase from the previous turnover.

Rwanda: The USE RSI and RSE ALSI trended down, dropping 0.42 percent and 0.07 percent respectively to close at 184.42 and 135.27. Total turnover came in at RWF 101.34mn with 362,000 shares traded.

Tanzania: The DSEI and DSE TSI declined 2.11 percent and 0.19 percent respectively to close at 2,464.24 and 4,603.41. Tanga Cement Company declined 8.11 percent to close at TZS 3,400.00 emerging as top loser. Total volumes were recorded at 111,963 shares. Total turnover closed at TZS 1.27bn.
