UCT Graduate School of Business Ranked Top Business School in Africa

US News & World Report released the 2015/16 edition of the Best Global Universities (BGU) featuring a list of the top institutions in Africa. Among the top 10, South Africa had six slots with University Of Cape Town topping the list.

The UCT Graduate School of Business (GSB) MBA programme has also been ranked as the top business school on the African continent – and among the top in the world.

Just this month the programme was ranked among the top 40 business schools in the 2015 Corporate Knights Better World MBA Ranking, and more recently placed top in Africa in the Eduniversal World Convention 2015.

Eduniversal is a global ranking and rating agency specializing in higher education. For the past 8 years the best 1,000 schools from 154 countries have participated in the ranking

This year the GSB was ranked as the continent’s top choice out of 74 schools across Africa. Second place was won by the American University in Cairo School of Business, Egypt, followed by the University of Stellenbosch Business School in third place.

Corporate Knights is a media, research and financial information organisation based in Toronto, Canada, and its main focus is to promote an economic system with strong social development ties. They business schools on three indicators: curriculum, institutes & centres and faculty research.

The University Of Cape Town (UCT) is South Africa’s oldest university. It started as a college, high school for boys but developed into a fully-fledged university during the period 1880 to 1900

The GSB university is also a three time receiver of crown accreditation from the AMBA (Association of MBAs); EQUIS (from the European Foundation of Management Education); and AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools),

The school also boasts of being the only business school on the continent to be ranked in the Financial Times Full-Time Top 100 for its full-time MBA programme. It’s the 12th consecutive year that the programme has been listed.

In the Financial Times MBA ranking, UCT’s Graduate School of Business was ranked as the 52nd best business school in the world.
