Flame Tree Emerges Top Loser of the Day

Kenyan Stock Market

NSE 20 gained 0.24 points to close at 3,830.15 while NASI index declined 0.38 points to close at 136.89. Trans-Century rose 9.09 percent to close at KES 13.20. Flame Tree shed off 4.76 percent to close the day at KES 6.00, becoming today’s top loser.

The volume of shares traded today was 20.87mn with total turnover of KES 566.64mn down 45.55 percent from yesterday. NSE was the largest mover of the day with a turnover of KES 171.70mn representing 30.85 percent of the total market turnover.

Foreign buys stood at 56.98 percent of total turnover, while foreign sales stood at 52.06 percent of total turnover

EAC Markets

Uganda: The USE ALSI declined 0.99 percent to close at 1,770.70 while USE LSI remained constant to close at 369.98. A total of 6.16mn shares were traded today. Total turnover came to a close
of UGX 218.76mn.

Rwanda: The USE RSI and RSE ALSI lost 1.04 percent and 0.16 percent respectively to close at 168.87 and 133.34. Total turnover came in at RWF 3.28mn with 13,700 shares traded.

Tanzania: The DSEI and DSE TSI shaved off 0.30 percent and 0.39 percent respectively to close at 2,419.78 and 4,630.05. National Microfinance Bank went up 1.38 percent to stand at TZS 575.00 emerging as today’s top gainer. African Barrick Gold declined 0.83 percent to halt at 7,200 to be the top loser. Total volumes were recorded at 1.05mn shares. Total turnover closed at TZS 11.51bn.
