OLX Revamps Its Mobile App for A Better User Experience

BY · November 2, 2015 11:11 am

OLX has launched a new app that will enable its users to experience a more secure, friendly and an easy to use as well as use less data service with the new application seeing users doing away with the current app and install the new one.

The new app is different from the current app because it allows both buyers and sellers to communicate directly through chatting. The app is such interesting that it serves users who are both online and offline. If the user is offline for instance, the app automatically takes one to SMS option with the number whose message is intended already inserted.

In terms of security, the app leaves no stone unturned because all the pictures taken and uploaded are watermarked making it difficult for a fraudster to use an already existing picture under false pretense of selling a similar item. If the buyer suspects any trends that is not satisfactory about the seller, he or she can effectively use the report button available within the app. As a way of authenticating the ownership of adverts on OLX, sellers will have to verify their emails after opening an account and confirming through a link sent to them via their emails.

For those worried about spelling errors should worry no more because with the permission of the user, OLX support team helps in editing as well as rearranging images of the advert and in the process, helping the user achieve the best image being posted as the main image.

The new OLX platform is already in use in three countries; Tanzania, Uganda and Ghana and all have reported it as a successful platform in transacting businesses.
