Standard Group Emerges Day’s Top Loser

The bourse recorded a mixed performance with NSE 20 declining 26.84 point to close at 3,829.91 while NASI index rose 0.34 points to close at 137.27. Longhorn led the gainers, going up 8.79 percent to close at KES 4.95. Standard Group shaved off 7.03 percent to close the day at KES 29.75, becoming today’s top loser.

The volume of shares traded today was 45.82mn. Total turnover was up 402.02 percent to close today’s session at KES 1,022.23mn. Safaricom was the largest mover of the day with a turnover of KES 447.25mn representing 43.75 percent of the total market turnover.

Foreign buys stood at 77.17 percent of total turnover, while foreign sales stood at 89.49 percent of total turnover

EAC Markets

Uganda: The USE ALSI and USE LSI lost 0.58 percent and 0.29 percent to close at 1,788.41 and 369.98. A total of 4.98mn shares were traded today. Total turnover came to a close of UGX 1.28bn.

Rwanda: The USE RSI and RSE ALSI declined 0.29 percent and 0.04 percent respectively to close at 170.65 and 133.56. Total turnover came in at RWF 7.33 with 26,600 shares traded.

Tanzania: The DSEI and DSE TSI rose 0.05 percent and 0.83 percent respectively to close at 2,427.11 and 4,648.62. CRDB Bank went up.17 percent to stand at TZS 7,590.00 emerging as today’s top gainer. African Barrick Gold declined 4.35 percent to halt at 7,260 to be the top loser. Total volumes were recorded at 193,218 shares. Total turnover closed at TZS 538.40mn.
