Here are some simple steps on how to marinate and prepare goat meat that will make family reunions worthwhile.

Marinade is a strongly­­-flavored liquid mix used for meat and fish, and sometimes vegetables, to give them some flavor or the marinade before cooking it. It is a commonly used technique in all culinary cultures although the ingredients used range from seasoned yoghurt to flavored oils.

Ingredients

  • 1kg mutton chops, cut
  • 100gms onions
  • 20gms chilies
  • 2gms garlic
  • 45gms tomatoes
  • 125ml olive oil
  • Juice of 2 lemons
  • 15gms salt
  • 5gms pepper

Method

  • Beat mutton chops with a mallet or the wooden handle of a knife and keep aside.
  • In a blender, add onions, chilies, garlic, tomatoes, and blend to taste.
  • Now add salt, pepper, lemon juice and olive oil to the blended mixture and mix well.
  • Add lamb chops to the marinade and keep aside for at least 4 to 6 hours.
  • Grill or pan fry well on both sides till cooked.
  • Serve hot.

 

This finger licking meal would be great for a family lunch.
