Uchumi Supermarkets Top Loser of the Day

NSE 20 and NASI index gained 20.27 points and 0.46 points respectively to close at 3,892.84 and 140.64. Bamburi went up 5.45 percent to close at KES 174.00. Uchumi ended 7.02 percent lower to close the day at KES 7.95, becoming today’s top loser.

The volume of shares traded today was 10.87mn, valued at KES 269.96mn down 44.82 percent from Friday’s turnover. E.A. Breweries was the largest mover of the day with a turnover of KES 85.43mn representing 31.64 percent of the total market turnover.

Foreign buys stood at 64.18 percent of total turnover, while foreign sales stood at 74.06 percent of total turnover

Uganda: The USE ALSI went up 1.16 percent to close at 1,740.34 while USE LSI remained constant to halt at 370.33. A total of 76,614 shares were traded today. Total turnover came to a close of UGX 28.15mn.

Rwanda: The USE RSI and RSE ALSI rose 1.39 percent and 3.98 percent respectively to close at 164.37 and 137.78. Total turnover came in at RWF 710,000 with 3,200 shares traded.

Tanzania: The DSEI declined 2.39 percent to close at 2,356.31 while DSE TSI edged up by 0.22 percent to close at 4,647.17. CRDB Bank went up 2.44 percent to stand at TZS 420.00 emerging as today’s top gainer. African Barrick Gold declined 12.52 percent to end the day at TZS 5,590 to be the top loser. Total volumes were recorded at 261,454 shares. Total turnover closed at TZS 235.95mn.
