WPP Scangroup Emerges Top Gainer of the Day

NSE 20 and NASI index jumped 24.31 points and 1.60 points to close at 3,971.30 and 146.31. WPP Scangroup edged up 4.95 percent to close at KES 26.50. Olympia Capital dropped 6.25 percent to close the day at KES 4.50, becoming today’s top loser.

The volume of shares traded today was 25.10mn, valued at KES 695.05mn up 28.09 percent from yesterday’s turnover. KCB Bank was the largest mover of the day with a turnover of KES 144.75mn representing 41.00 percent of the total market turnover.

Foreign buys stood at 65.83 percent of total turnover, while foreign sales stood at 58.31 percent of total turnover.

Uganda: The USE ALSI lost 1.51 percent to close at 1,711.69 while USE LSI gained 0.17 percent to close at 372.39. A total of 3.72mn shares were traded today. Total turnover came to a close of UGX 438.98mn.

Rwanda: The USE RSI and RSE ALSI shed off 1.74 percent and 0.26 percent respectively to close at 157.11 and 131.88. Total turnover came in at RWF 434,300 with 1,900 shares traded.

Tanzania: The DSEI and DSE TSI rose 1.17 percent and 1.12 percent to close at 2,368.58 and 4,675.56. Tanzania Portland Cement went up 11.33 percent to stand at TZS 3,340.00 emerging as today’s top gainer. Total volumes were recorded at 233,430 shares. Total turnover closed at TZS 628.77mn
