Umeme Gains 7.43 Percent to Emerge Top Gainer

NSE 20 declined 38.01 points to close at 3,978.17 while NASI index went up 0.01 points to close at 143.48. Umeme gained 7.43 percent to close at KES 18.80. Atlas Development shaved off 18.60 percent to end today at KES 1.75, becoming today’s top loser.

The volume of shares traded today was 12.13mn, valued at KES 367.36mn down 54.19 percent from 801.86mn recorded
yesterday. BAT Kenya was the largest mover of the day with a turnover of KES 70.64mn representing 19.23 percent of the total market turnover.

Foreign buys stood at 64.75 percent of total turnover, while foreign sales stood at 63.15 percent of total turnover

EAC Markets

Uganda: The USE ALSI and USE LSI declined 1.12 percent and 1.17 percent to close at 1,738.63 and 376.40. A total of 4.49mn shares were traded today. Total turnover came to a close of UGX 2.22bn.

Rwanda: The USE RSI and RSE ALSI edged up 1.54 percent and 0.21 percent respectively to close at 151.59 and 131.19. Total turnover came in at RWF 2.36bn with 12.69 shares traded.

Tanzania: The DSEI and DSE TSI went up 0.30 percent and 0.05 percent to close at 2,381.48 and 4,599.38. National Microfinance Bank rose 1.45 percent to stand at TZS 2,790.00 emerging as today’s top gainer. CRDB Bank declined 1.25 percent to end the day at TZS 395.00 to be the top loser. Total volumes were recorded at 1.15mn shares. Total turnover closed at TZS 12.18bn.
