OLX Donates Goods Worth 500000 Shillings to Kenyatta Hospital

It is in this spirit of making sure that everyone benefits that the leading online classified company has donated goods of 500,000 shillings to Kenyatta Hospital Labor Ward.

This donation comes as part of the company’s initiative and mission to support Reproductive Health as well as a way of creating awareness on exclusive breastfeeding.

OLX has donated 10,000 units (300ml) of breast milk storage bottles in support of exclusive breastfeeding under world Health Organization (WTO) guide.

During this event, 10,000 units of 300ml breast milk storage bottles that will be used in support of exclusive breastfeeding as state in the guide by World Health Organization, Tea Urns that will be used for storing as well as serving hot tea to mothers in the labor ward and refrigerator that will be used for the purposes of storing drugs were donated by OLX to the health institution.

Under this new partnership, the mothers who will be discharged from the hospital upon successful delivery will be given tumblers that they will use to store milk as a way of encouraging them to breastfeed for longer hours. Mothers, especially those who work have been encouraged to embrace the culture of breastfeeding their young ones for longer.

OLX PR and Communications Manager Pauline Masese said that the main goal and mission of OLX to create an environment where everyone is a winner that is the buyers, the sellers, the environment and the community. According to Pauline, supporting Kenyatta Hospital is a way of community empowerment that is much needed.

The donations by OLX are expected to improve the activities at the hospital as well as giving an emphasizing impact on the need for exclusive breastfeeding which has been said to be one of the ways of raising health babies.
