OLX Partners with G4S to Ease Delivery of Goods

The leading online classifieds company, OLX has today partnered with G4S in a move that is aimed at easing the delivery of goods from buyers to sellers.

Under this partnership, users of OLX will now be able to collect their online purchases from the G4S centers across the country.

This service however is not compulsory and it will only be applicable to those who will be in need of the services of delivery.

This move will also increase openness and accountability since the seller will be able to safely deliver their items to G4S centers and, in the process, enabling buyers to have an easy access to their goods.

“This partnership will enable us, as OLX to enhance the safety of our users and to also lessen the burden of transport on them even as more traders, micro-businesses and consumers troop to our platform every day to sell both new as well as unused items,” said OLX country manager Peter Ndiang’ui.

On his part, the G4S Secure Logistics Director, Geoffrey Mwove, said that the partnership goes a long way in providing the commitment of the company, G4S, to provide convenient service to their customer.

“The seller will be asked to set a security question that is to be answered by the buyer upon collection of the package with necessary identification documents including original ID or Passport.” Said Mr. Mwove.

The delivery service also will see sellers on the OLX platform deliver items to the nearest G4S collection center for dispatch to the buyer within Nairobi.

At the moment, only customers within Nairobi will be able to enjoy the service being offered by G4S in partnership with OLX. The service will be rolled out to other counties with time, approximately in three months according to an OLX country manager Peter Ndiang’ui.
