Goat is one of the main dishes in a lot of areas in the world including the Middle East, Mexico, India, Pakistan, Philippines, and Africa and is slowly gaining ground in the U. S.

Goat meat is also classified as red meat along with beef and lamb, but they are leaner and have less saturated fat, calories and cholesterol which are great for your diet.

Goat Meat Loaf – Meat loaf with ground goat meat. The meat loaf is baked first before it is heated in the microwave oven.

Curried Goat – Cubed goat meat with curry powder, thyme, some sugar, garlic, onions and potatoes.

Barbecued Cabrito – This is cooked on an open pan in a 350 degrees oven. Baste the cabrito with barbecue sauce (sugar, tomato sauce, vinegar, butter, cumin, garlic, oregano, pepper and salt) until the meat is tender.

Nyama choma Goat is the meat of choice in Kenya for roast meat which is often seasoned with salt and pepper. Nyama choma is always eaten with the hands, and common side dishes include kachumbari salad and ugali.

Mshikaki Mshikaki is a very popular snack on the East-African Coast and Mombasa. This snack is basically skewered meat – mainly goat grilled on red-hot charcoal. The meat is cut into cubes, marinated in unique ingredients that include yogurt, coriander, limes, pepper and garlic. The meat is then skewered and seared over a hot charcoal grill for 10-15minutes.
