Naked Pizza Calls It Quits

After 3 years, 6 months, 1 week and 4 days of operations in Kenya, Naked pizza have closed down its outlets that were located along Mombasa Road and in Nairobi’s Westland’s area. In its position, Feast Limited, who are holders of Pizza Hut Kenya, will be taking over.

Naked Pizza announced their final operations yesterday, where through their twitter handle, they stated that their operations were going to be taken over by Pizza Hut.  Pizza Hut is an American Restaurant chain and international franchise, that is known their Italian-American cuisines that include pizza and pasta.

Pizza Hut have 8,599 Pizza Hut locations in the United States, and 5,139 more locations in 92 other countries and territories, making up a total of 13,728 branches across the world. The American chain will rebrand the two outlets, absorb the over 40 staff in Naked Pizza’s payroll, food truck and 25 delivery bikes.

Feast Limited had already hinted of their plans to invest Sh500 million in the Kenyan market in the next two years. Feast Director Chris Joseph had stated that the firm had plans to open another four Pizza Hut restaurants in Nairobi before the end of 2016. This is in additional to the two Pizza Hut outlets that are located at the Westgate Shopping Mall and College House around the CBD.

Naked pizza disclosed through their twitter handle that over the period that they have been in operations, they have been able to serve over 200,000 pizzas and made more than 100,000 deliveries.
