In other Stock Market News…

The Kenyan Shilling strengthened against the US Dollar, 1.70 percent year-to-date with the same being replicated against the Sterling Pound where the Kenyan Shilling strengthened 4.02 percent year-to-date.  The shillings however the Kenyan Shilling weakened against the Euro by 2.63 percent year-to-date. 

The market turnover at the bourse recorded 36.7 percent decrease to 264.88 million shillings or simply 2.63 million US Dollars from yesterday’s trading. The NSE 20 index and NASI index lost 0.33 percent and 0.01 percent respectively to close at 3,964.65 and 145.61.

Foreign investors assumed a net buying position by accounting for 67.2% of total market purchases and 45.8 percent of total market sales.

In other EAC markets, the RSE RSI and RSE ALSI of Rwanda remained constant to close at 145.98 and 130.50 respectively while the USE ALSI and USE LSI of Uganda gained 0.55 percent and 2.35 percent respectively to close at 1,772.44 and  390.43 respectively.
