800 youth to benefit from Tuskys Supermarket internship program

Tuskys Supermarket is offering internship for 800 youths in the quest to transform lives and communities between June and September.

Dan Githua, CEO Tuskys in statement he said they share the success they have had with their customers for the last 26 years and it was prudent to invest in the people.

“We believe that investing in people is investing in our country’s future. Please join us in creating this future by logging onto www.tustkys.com and nominating 2 people for our internship program which we are running jointly with KCB.”

KCB Foundation will invest in the training and upskilling of the 13,000 youths through established agricultural institutions.

Tuskys will on the other hand provide market for the farm produce in its 54 stores, making it one of the most fulfilling contract farming initiatives.

The identified agri-produce include poultry products, milk, sweet potatoes, vegetables, beef, and honey, among others.

This is part of the Chain’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiative that has so far transformed lives of over 700 interns, 90 per cent of which are now working in its 54 branches countrywide.

The new model of making applications will give equal opportunity to Tuskys’ over 1 million Loyalty customers across the country to be part of the process. It will also ensure that even those youths in far-flung areas get a chance to be trained and linked up to the market given that application is through an online portal.

Steps to be followed in the nomination process:

  1. Be a registered holder of the Tuskys Loyalty Card
  2. Proceed to Tuskys website which is www.tuskys.com.
  3. At the bottom part of the website, click on Internship.
  4. Proceed by click in on the link that says “Click here to proceed.
  5. You will be redirected to a page where you will be needed to upload your CV, key in your card number and national ID then login.
  6. At this point,  will be able to access your account.
  7. On the right side of the page, there are two sections, each for the 2 people that you would like to nominate.
  8. Enter their details, that is, (First Name, Last Name, Email Address, Area of Interest, CV) then upload the CV document in the “choose document” part.
  9. Click to submit.

Applicants for the internship program should be:

  • Kenyan citizens
  • Have a minimum education qualification of grade of KCSE C.
  • Should either be current students seeking internship opportunities or have completed their O levels or higher learning courses.

The internship period will not exceed 24 weeks.
