Rich cuisines on offer at dusitD2 Hotel as New Delhi Meets Bangkok in Nairobi

DusitD2 Nairobi and Qatar Airways, renowned names in the aviation and hospitality industries, have come together to create a daringly different culinary experience with the “New Delhi meets Bangkok” event.
The event hosted at the dusitD2 Nairobi will feature two top chefs from New Delhi, India, and Bangkok, Thailand, who will offer a unique menu of fusion of dishes from Indian and Thai cuisines. The two are Chef Pairote Pimswat from Bangkok and Award Winning Chef Nishant from New Delhi.
The dusitD2 Nairobi Hotel General Manager, Michael Metaxas said the inaugural event targets affluent locals, expatriates in Nairobi and the hotel guests.
“We are proud to host this event, where chefs/connoisseurs of great food from India and Thailand will come together to celebrate the excellence and creativity of cuisines from the two traditions,” said Metaxas.

New Delhi Meets Bangkok is an invite only event targeting 70 guests per lunch and dinner settings, respectively. Chef Pairote expressed optimism that guests to the event will be satisfied with the rich menu on offer, singling out Thai cuisine which he said is delicious and simple in flavor.
“Thai food is loyal to traditional Thai herb which is very simple, aromatic and spicy. Thai food embraces pungency balance of flavors and depth create delicious and aromatic memories and I am certain guests will find it very delicious,” he said.
Pairote who won the Gold Award at Park Hyatt Dubai Hotel specializes in Thai cuisine.
“I love to cook and eat. I feel proud when I cook and serve guests who make me proud whenever they are happy with the food,” he said.
He has over 15 years of experience working at the Hilton Hotel, Merchant Court Hotel, Sofitel Hotel, Hyatt Hotel, Japan Airline Hotel(JAL), Savoy Hotel, Radisson Blu Hotel, Banyan tree Hotel and Dusit Hotel.
Award Winning Chef Nishant Kumar Choubey graduated from Bhopal Catering College and had his first appointment with the Oberoi Group of Hotels, Rajvilas Jaipur where he worked for over two years. He then joined Jumeirah group as part of the pre-opening team for Madinat Jumeirah. Nishant was also part of the pre-opening team for Olive Beach, Japanese restaurant ai and lap before joining Dusit Devarana in New Delhi where he works at the celebrity restaurant Cibo.
“Cooking for me is giving a gourmet experience to my esteemed guest. I always allow my food to speak for my repertoire. Since I am a sustainable chef, I use local ingredients to cook in an eco-friendly environment,” said Chef Nishant ahead of the event
