Maisha Magic East Announces New Shows For The Month Of September 2016

Maisha Magic East (DStv channel 158) will this month showcase a series of one hour Swahili movies exclusive to Maisha Magic every Wednesday beginning September 7, 2016.

Popular actor Timothy Njuguna popularly known as Njugush takes a central role in the first of the four movies titled Mganga Bomba which will air on Maisha Magic East on Wednesday 7 September, 2016 from 21.15pm.

M-Net East Africa Channel Head Margaret Mathore says, “We are happy to put out these new shows as the premium providers of local content in East Africa. We are proud not only of our association with this burgeoning industry but also in the role we are playing in developing and supporting our local production industries. This is a start of a number of new and exciting shows that we will be introducing to our viewers as scheduled in months to come.”

Mganga Bomba packs numerous hilarious scenes together to present the plotline of a young man from the village who come to the city with a dream of earning a more rewarding lifestyle. Lacking in skills to help him succeed, he makes some daunting decisions with the help of a friend and mentor – Njugush; who convinces him to masquerade as a healer who can solve problems ranging from kushinda jackpot (winning the lottery) to Kutochapwa na bibi (Husband battery). His actions later come to haunt him.

Timothy Njuguna who features in a movie role for the first time on this show explains, “I like the fact that in a movie, I can play different characters that find closure when the movie ends unlike in shows where you have to play the same character over and over. I love this character because he gives me the chance to go wild. In my previous roles I’ve never had the chance to be street-smart and cunning. I’m always the naïve character but in Mganga Bomba, it’s the opposite. I’m definitely looking forward to taking more movie roles in future.”

Mganga Bomba will air on Wednesday 7 September at 21:15, exclusive to Maisha Magic East.
