Dr. Patrick Njoroge named African 2016 Central Bank Governor for SSA

Dr. Patrick Njoroge, the Governor of the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) has been named the African Central Bank Governor of the Year for Sub Saharan Africa at the 10th African Banker Awards.

Njoroge was lauded for cleaning up the country’s banking sector through improved supervision.

Njoroge said he was moved and delighted in receiving the award which he dedicated it to his staff.

In May, he was named the Central Banker of the Year at the African Banker Awards.

Claver Gatete, Minister of Finance and Economic Planning for Rwanda was named the Finance minister of the Year.

The awards, which are held annually as part of the Annual Meetings of the African Development Bank, celebrate the continent’s excellence in banking and finance.
