Somalian President Visits Kenya School of Monetary Studies

President Mohamed Abdullahi of Somalia who is in Kenya for a three-day state visit on Saturday paid a courtesy call to the Kenya School of Monetary Studies (KMS) where he was hosted by the Governor of the Central Bank of Kenya Dr. Patrick Njoroge.

President Mohamed is in the country for his first state visit to Kenya aimed at boosting multi-sectoral bilateral engagements and enhancing the existing partnerships to leverage on the existing opportunities.

One of the existing engagements has been on strengthening monetary and fiscal sectors between Kenya and Somalia. Somalia needs support from Kenya to support her infrastructural developments especially in the financial sector.

The CBK Governor, Dr. Patrick Njoroge discussed areas of possible support and collaboration between the Government of the Republic of Somalia and the Central Bank of Kenya focusing on monetary policy, Bank Supervision, National Payments System, financial sector integrity; among other issues.

The CBK Governor also took the visiting president on a tour of the School facilities. KSMS was established and registered as a corporate entity under the Companies Act (CAP. 486) Laws of Kenya and Limited by Guarantee in 1997.
