A leading Indian healthcare provider, Max Healthcare has launched its first patient assistance centre in Nairobi.

The facility will help patients to enquire about services and treatments offered by its chain of hospitals.

Located at Upper Hill, the centre will also function as a follow-up point for patients in East Africa who have sought medication in Max Healthcare hospitals with supplementary consultation with doctors in India.

Speaking during the launch at a Nairobi hotel, Max Healthcare Chief executive officer Rajit Mehta said they have established the centre to cater for over 3,000 patients from East Africa whom they treat in India. “East Africa is important to us, as we cater to almost 3,000 patients per year from the region.

“The launch of our first international assistance center is a patient-centric step to deliver better healthcare outcomes in the region. We are committed to a broad collaboration with local healthcare service providers so as to support them in building capacity and the necessary infrastructure in partnership with local healthcare service providers.”

According to Mehta, they are also committed to deliver doctor and staff training programmes , conduct on-ground consultations and surgical procedures in local hospitals by Maz Healthcare Specialists and support with efficient hospital management.

Max Healthcare is also planning to further extend the reach of the Center by launching a full-fledged telemedicine programme. Once the center is fully functional, senior doctors from max Healthcare in partnership with local hospitals will organize OPDs, as well as surgical camps for patients in the region.
