Is Ekuru Aukot of ThirdWay Alliance a game changer in Kenyan politics?

The entry into the Presidential race by Thirdway Alliance candidate Ekuru Aukot has complicated the political matrix of National Super Alliance (NASA) and expectations of President Uhuru Kenyatta of being declared president without an election.

Aukot has given President Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party chance to participate in a democratic exercise after the withdrawal of NASA’s Raila Odinga candidature.

NASA’s move was intended to show Jubilee’s abuse of power but Aukot’s entry to the big match has thrust him into a position symbolically stated by his party at the ‘third way’.

But Aukot is, however, a mega spoiler of NASA’s marching band that wanted to twirl the election in favour of their interests. Jubilee has only 200 votes to lose which is only but a good loss to them.

Ignoring the burden he is placing on taxpayers with his ‘apparent interests for the big seat’ or the privileges of being a NASA’s mole.

With less than 1 percent votes in the August 8 election and a lesser campaign time than before, he is set on garnering an even lesser number than that.

His primary concern happens to be liquidating the Jubilee vote and set in motion the NASA agenda of engineering a discrepancy in democracy leading to power-sharing which is the ultimate game-plan.

On August 8, Aukot proved his point as being a soar in the ‘Power Cake’ with only a state position that hadn’t helped him breed political clout.

Politics is a matter of rank succession where every budding personality in business doesn’t climb the tree from the top but from the bottom drumming up a support base on the move.

A political figure is a series of continuous activities and maneuvers earning him a spotlight from the people he intends to represent.

Portrayed as a cynosure lawyer, he is an eminent member of the civil society and the face of transformation in championing for “justice”. His recent victory in the brawl for inclusion in the repeat presidential election leads to inclusion of all candidates who were vying for the presidency being declared to be on the ballot in the repeat elections by IEBC.

A scratch election lets Kenyans pay the ultimate price of democracy. Fronting a strong threat to Jubilee’s intended NASA humiliating win of 70+1. A message the party intends to express its might in the race.

Having been an evident civil society activist, it is an open front for him to be deemed a NASA infiltrator in pursuit of their power-sharing desires. He and his communist friends ought to be barred from the October 26 contest on the grounds that he is an evident spoiler to the overall agenda of democracy.

In place of desire to see democracy prevail and economic breakthroughs as a result of democratic might, the country can make its intentions evident on sending the converse.

There isn’t much to don post-October 26 unless some merciful position he might be able to lobby for or practice his activist hobbies that will enable him to set up his machinery for August 9, 2022.

Having no solid political base, he might not be able to offer value as a political alliance cum associate to anybody. He nonetheless will be a conflicting interest force to what eminent contenders of 2022 might not want. His appreciation of law enables him to twist and turn it towards his interests whichever they may be: good or bad.

Come post-October 26, he is to prove himself significant by garnering influence to be deemed a political threat to anyone. Raising his political base from 200 votes to a significant figure is his tasking homework.
