State House Spokesman Manoah Esipisu has said all Cabinet Secretaries will remain in office until a new team is vetted, approved and sworn into office.

In a statement issued on Saturdday, Esipisu clarified that all the CSs are under instructions to continue discharging their duties.

“This is to clarify that the Cabinet Secretaries currently in office remain so, as instructed in a memorandum from the Head of Public Service in December 2017, until otherwise advised,” he said in a statement.

On Friday, President Uhuru Kenyatta retained six cabinet ministers who served in during his first term: Henry Rotich (National Treasury), James Macharia (Transport and Infrastructure) Fred Matiang’i, (Interior and Co-ordination of National Government, and acting Cabinet Secretary in the Ministry of Education), Charles Keter (Energy) and Joe Mucheru (ICT).

President nominated former Turkana Senator John Munyes, former Marsabit Governor Ukur Yattani and former Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko to Cabinet.
