High Demand for Carrots Pushes its Price High in Mombasa

A 138-kilogram bag of carrots is retailing at an average market price of 2,980 shillings across the country with the highest market price being 6,000 shillings in Mombasa while lowest price is 1,600 shillings in Eldoret.

A 50-kilogram bag of capsicums, on the other hand, is being sold with the following market prices: 2,250 shillings in Nairobi, 2,500 shillings in Nakuru, 2.100 shillings in Kisumu, 2,000 shillings in Mombasa and 1,500 shillings in Eldoret.

A 142-kilogram bag of Spring Onions has the following market prices: 3,500 shillings in Mombasa, 2,000 shillings in Nairobi and Kisumu respectively, 1,200 shillings in Eldoret and 1,000 shillings in Nakuru.

Checking the fruits market, a 90kilogram bag of Avocado has an average market price of 2,500 shillings, with the highest price being 4,500 shillings in Mombasa and lowest standing at 1,800 in Eldoret.

A 93-kilogram bag of Oranges has the following market prices: 4,800 shillings in Nakuru, 3,400 shillings in Mombasa and 3,000 shillings in Nairobi, Kisumu and Eldoret respectively:
