Dear entrepreneur, it is Easter. Time to take a break. What are you up to? Going out with family? Grabbing a beer with friends?

For many people, this is a time to rest and relax but with the current economic situation in this country, for an entrepreneur, every rest is time is either money wasted or an opportunity gone.

But did you know that sometimes it is always good to stop and reflect on your work? You might be working hard but with minimal results. Sometimes we work so hard only to end up disappointed and frustrated because of the simple reason that we don’t reflect on our work.

This Easter, is the perfect time to take stock of your business, your employees and your business environment in general. If only entrepreneurs took time to take stock of their businesses, Kenya would not be having 400,000 SMEs closing down every year.

For instance, do you know your team? What a kind of a team do you have? Is it a team that is destined to make you succeed or drag you down? You know, in most cases, we let our businesses act as ‘NGOs’, where people just come to earn a salary and go with nothing coming out of them. What kind of a team do you have? This is a time to reflect.

What led to your greatest failure if there was any? It is said that 90 percent of businesses fail because of people who make excuses. What is the excuse level in your business? Is it hurting the business? Have you been meeting deadlines for your clients? It is time to reflect.

How is your cash flow? Is your business bringing money the way you want it? It is time to reflect. The bone of the matter here is that it is time to reflect on everything and anything business.
