Be Warned: International ‘Missed Calls’ Are Wiping out People’s Airtime

Have you received any missed call or a ‘Please Call Me’ message from an international number lately? Have you tried calling back? What happened when you called back?

The Communication Authority is calling Kenyans not attempt to call back any international ‘missed call’ or a ‘please call me’ because it is a scam that is wiping out the airtime of those who call back.

According to a statement from CA, the scam known as Wangiri has been reported by several people in Kenya.

CA says that the scammers call their targets with calls that only ring once using numbers that begin with +963, +41, +37 and +252 and when tone calls back, all the airtime is wiped out from the phone.
