Britam Holdings Rules the NSE as Top Mover of the Day

The top mover of the day at Nairobi Securities Exchange was Britam Holdings which sold 41.14 million shares with a market capitalization of 31.36 billion.

Safaricom Plc came in second after selling 17.88 million shares with a market capitalization of 1.14 trillion. Safaricom released its financial year results where it registered 55.3 billion shillings in profits.

Barclays Bank of Kenya sold 7.62 million shares with a market capitalization of 64.36 billion while KenolKobil sold 3.28 million shares at a market capitalization of 28.70 billion.

Equity Group sold 1.21 million shares with a capitalization of 194.34 billion. Unlike on Tuesday, top five counters traded shares above a million each.

The top gainer of the day was WPP ScanGroup with 7.14 percent at the price of 18.75 shillings per share.

TPS Eastern Africa (Serena) was the second top gainer with 6.25 percent at the price of 34.00 shillings per share.

Mumias Sugar gained the same as Serena (6.25 percent) at the price of 0.85 shillings per share.

Home Afrika and NIC Bank gained 5.00 and 3.31 percent at the price of 1.05 and 39.00 shillings per share respectively.

The top loser was East Africa Portland Cement with 9.71 percent at the price of 23.25 shillings per share.

Trans-Century lost 9.68 percent at the price of 4.20 shillings per share while ARM shed off 7.14 percent at the price of 6.50 shillings per share.

Flame Tree Group and Stanlib Fahari Income – REIT lost 4.76 and 3.77 percent at the price of 4.00 and 11.50 shillings per share respectively.
