Education and skills development have become indispensable catalysts for economic and social development. That is why Red Rocks Initiatives for Sustainable Development has given these priority statuses in its programs.

Red Rocks strategy focuses on providing the youth with education, skills, and financial incentives they require to find fulfilling and dignified work.

To achieve our mission, we work with private sector players, government officials, and educational institutions to enhance the quality of education plus vocational training so that the people are equipped with useful skills employers need. We also seek to leverage technology to link job seekers with potential employers
intended to help the local youth around the Virunga massif.

Red Rocks Tourism for Youth Program

Rwanda tourism industry has been growing exponentially over the last decade. By 2030, it’s projected that the tourism and hospitality sector in Rwanda will create 150,000 direct jobs. Granted, a focus on the development of the youth and young people as some major force in the development of sustainable tourism and community development cannot be overstated.

Red Rocks Initiatives for Sustainable Development programs has identified that sustainable tourism can be effectively developed in Rwanda for the benefit of social, cultural, economic and environmental needs. We also create a network of knowledge.

We facilitate the youth in developing their skills and talents in different areas of art. We also train them at our facilities on skills that will make them seamlessly join the hospitality industry.

Working together with TVETs and the private sector, we will prepare 30,000 young people to enter into or advance their careers in this industry. We will also enable entrepreneurs to access capital and technical support so they can grow their businesses and the sector. At least half of the young people who participate in Hanga Ahazaza will be young women.
